About

Doctrinal Identity

We consider ourselves historic evangelical.

This means that our understanding of the Holy Scriptures is guided by a lineage of historical creeds and confessions, dating back to the apostles.  Some of the creeds and confessions we look to are the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Chalcedon Definition, and London Baptist Confession of Faith 1689.

We are Bible-based and centered on the gospel of Christ, and we adhere to the tenants of the Five Solas of reformed theology (Scripture Alone, Faith Alone, Grace Alone, Christ Alone, to the Glory of God Alone).

What We Believe

Bible

We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and the complete revelation of God’s will for salvation and the highest authority for the Christian life in matters of faith and doctrine. Therefore it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.
2 Timothy 3:16 & Proverbs 30:5

God

We believe that there is one God , eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Psalm 90:2 & Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ , in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal, tangible return in power and in glory.
John 1:1-5 & Romans 1:3-4

Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe that the salvation of humankind is by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ alone.
Ephesians 2:8-9 & Titus 3:5

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
Acts 1:8 & 1 Corinthians 2:12

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the body of the saved and lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5:25-29 ; 1 Thessalonians 5:15-17

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.
Psalm 133:1 & Ephesians 4:3

Leadership

We are an elder-led congregation. We believe that a plurality of elders is the biblical model for church government consistently presented in the New Testament.
